The White Hart

Public House

The White hart was constructed in 1565 on the site of a mediaeval manor house by Ambrose Dudley (The Earl of Warwick) who was Master of the Queen’s horses

Famous historical visitors to the White Hart include Queen Elizabeth I who reputedly dined here ten years after the opening of the pub and Mary Queen of Scots who often visited whilst in exile in Staffordshire.
